DAY 1: CUSCO – SANTA TERESA-HIDROELECTRICA
We’ll pick you up from the hotel at 07:10 am, then continue and enjoy beautiful landscapes along our journey until we reach the town of Santa Teresa. Throughout the trip, you’ll be able to appreciate beautiful and picturesque natural and cultural attractions. We’ll proceed on a winding ascent towards the Málaga pass located at an altitude of 4350 meters, where we’ll observe the most marvelous landscapes of the Peruvian geography.
After a brief stop, we’ll start the descent towards the jungle, passing through various altitude levels that combine paradisiacal landscapes, from majestic snow-capped mountains to the warm high jungle. Until reaching the altitude of the town of Alfamayo, where we’ll find a perfectly paved road. From there, the road (unpaved) begins towards the town of Santa Teresa, located at an altitude of 1575 meters, and after a short stop around 2:00 pm approximately, a delicious lunch with a variety of food will be waiting for you. We’ll continue towards Aguas Calientes walking along the train tracks. We’ll settle into our assigned hotel or hostel and then have free time. You can visit the hot springs of Aguas Calientes. In the evening, we’ll gather at a restaurant for dinner and plan the visit to Machu Picchu for the next day with the guide.
DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU
A snack will be provided starting from 4:30 a.m. to start very early from the hotel to Machu Picchu by foot or bus.
One of the 7 wonders of the contemporary world, discovered in 1911, undoubtedly the major attraction of Latin America, and hence the world.
The guided tour will begin at 6:30 a.m. and will last approximately 2 hours. Later, you’ll enjoy free time for the rest of the day and have the option to visit Waynapicchu (optional with an additional $25). Subsequently, we’ll walk back to Aguas Calientes where you’ll spend the second night. On day three, we’ll walk to Hidroelectrica where we take the return bus at 2 pm, arriving in Cusco at 9:30 pm.
